Boro boss Graham Westley was "delighted" to sign Daley on a one-month loan deal from Norwich in January 2011 - but sadly he didn't live up to the hype.
Westley had initially tried to get Daley in summer 2010, ahead of Boro's first Football League season, but a thigh injury put paid to those plans.
Instead, he came to Stevenage in January 2011, having made only one appearance for his parent club in the season so far. He would feature in a Stevenage first team shirt just twice, though he did also turn out for the reserves.
His loan was not extended, and 21-year-old Daley moved onto League Two Plymouth ahead of the 2011-12 season.
He returned to Boro briefly for an unsuccessful trial period in summer 2012, with future spells following with Lincoln, Braintree, Dartford and Chelmsford, where he would end his career in 2018.
