Biography

Sutton United youth product Taylor joined Stevenage in January 2026, having made more than 40 appearances for the U's.

When his signing was revealed by Boro, a club statement described him as "a versatile defender with intelligence, composure and aerial dominance" and said the club had "tracked him closely all season".

Beginning his career in Eastbourne Borough's youth set-up, followed by some time at Chelsea, he joined Sutton United as a 16-year-old having been spotted by the U's Director of Football Terry Bullivant and Jack Boys at a Chelsea showcase game.

Spending two years on a scholarship at his hometown Bexhill College, Taylor's rise really got going in 2022/23, when he became a key member of Sutton's academy team and performed well in loan spells at Isthmian League South East Division Burgess Hill Town. A further spell with Isthmian League Premier Division Hornchurch followed before he signed his first pro contract in February 2024.

His EFL debut came a month later, away at Tranmere Rovers in League Two. A return to non-league in 2024/25 on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough in the National League South - playing under former Boro keeper Alan Julian - paid rich dividends with 23 appearances and a place in the league's Team of the Half-Season. Recalled by Sutton, he went on to make 16 appearances for them in the National League that season, before becoming a first team regular in 2025/26.
